Created by Canadian West Coast Swing event directors, the program rewards participation at eligible events with entries for chances to win free passes to future Canadian events—while discovering diverse dance communities, supporting local organizers, and building lasting connections from coast to coast.

What is the Canada Westie Passport?
The Canada Westie Passport is a national participation program that encourages dancers to attend West Coast Swing events across Canada, support Canadian organizers, and build connections from coast to coast. It recognizes participation, travel, and involvement while celebrating the strength and diversity of the Canadian dance community.
Who can participate?
Any dancer attending participating Canadian West Coast Swing events is welcome to participate. The program is open to dancers of all levels and backgrounds who are interested in traveling, supporting events, and engaging with the broader national community.
Do I need to apply more than once?
No. You only need to apply once per calendar year.
Applications open after the first participating event of the year and close one week after the final participating event concludes. Once you apply, we take care of the rest on the back end.

Does it cost anything?
No. There is no cost to participate in the Canada Westie Passport. The program is designed to be accessible and inclusive, focusing on participation and community rather than fees or memberships.
How do I apply?
You can apply by completing the online application form linked on this website. Once submitted, you’ll be included in the program and provided with next steps as events and opportunities become available.
Are complimentary, won, or free passes eligible for the program?
Passes must be purchased in order to count toward the Canada Westie Passport.
Complimentary, won, or free passes do not earn entries—after all, you already won a pass! We want to spread the joy and give more dancers the opportunity to experience Canadian events.
How are events verified?
Participation is verified through simple confirmation with participating event organizers. The program is intentionally designed to be easy for both dancers and event directors, with no address tracking, distance calculations, or complex reporting required.
